Agreement and Service Scope

These terms govern your use of Blur Background. By using the service, creating an account, purchasing Credits, or submitting an AI Refined task, you agree to these terms and the linked policies.

Blur Background edits one static photo at a time to soften the background while keeping the main subject visible. The current product does not promise background replacement, video processing, batch processing, a public gallery, team workspaces, permanent task history, or a public API.

Free Basic

Free Basic runs in the browser without an account or automatic server upload. Availability and output depend on the device, browser, supported format, file size, pixel dimensions, local model availability, and available memory. If local processing fails, the photo is not silently sent to AI Refined.

You are responsible for reviewing the subject edges, blur strength, and exported image before using or sharing it.

Accounts and Security

You must provide accurate account information and keep sign-in credentials secure. Do not share an account in a way that bypasses product limits or use another person's account without permission. Notify support if you believe your account, Credits, or payment history has been misused.

Your Photos and Permissions

You retain your rights in photos you submit. You grant Blur Background and the service providers involved in the selected workflow the limited permission needed to receive, process, store briefly, and return the photo or task artifacts.

Only process content you own or are authorized and permitted to use. You are responsible for consent, copyright, publicity, privacy, and other rights that apply to the photo and your intended use of the result. Blur Background does not determine whether your use is lawful or commercially permitted.

AI Refined and Credits

AI Refined is optional and may be unavailable unless account, payment, private storage, AI-service, and cost-control requirements are configured. Before upload, the product identifies the processing mode and its 10-Credit cost and requires explicit confirmation.

Ten Credits are reserved when an eligible task is created. They are finalized only after a private result is verified. Eligible AI-service failure, timeout, policy rejection, result-ingest failure, or cancellation before AI-service acceptance restores the reservation once. A cancellation requested after AI processing begins may require reconciliation before the Credit status is known.

Purchased Credit Packs are one-time purchases, do not renew automatically, and currently expire 365 days after grant. Pack contents and prices are shown before checkout and may change for future purchases without changing a completed order. Promotional Credits, if offered, may have different disclosed terms.

Third-Party Services

AI Refined currently uses Fal to generate a subject mask. The final background blur and compositing run in your browser. Hosting, storage, authentication, analytics, payment, and support services may also be provided by third parties. Their availability and applicable terms can affect the service.

Models and automated segmentation can make mistakes. AI Refined does not promise perfect edges, an optical-lens result, unchanged details, or suitability for every image.

Acceptable Use

Follow the Content Policy. Do not use Blur Background for illegal activity, exploitation, harassment, impersonation, fraud, infringement, non-consensual intimate content, attempts to evade safety controls, or attacks on the service. We may reject or stop tasks and restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect users, providers, or the service.

Not a Privacy-Redaction Tool

Background blur is an aesthetic effect, not reliable anonymization. It may leave faces, license plates, addresses, documents, screens, or sensitive text readable. Do not rely on Blur Background as your only privacy, legal, or security protection.

Availability and Changes

The service may be changed, limited, paused, or discontinued. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, a processing deadline, or that every browser, third-party service, payment method, or image will work. Preview or early-access features may change as reliability, cost, and safety evidence develops.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without a guarantee that results will meet a particular aesthetic, commercial, or technical purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Refunds, Privacy, and Deletion

Task Credit restoration is different from a cash refund. Review the Refund Policy before purchasing. Photo, account, analytics, and third-party handling are described in the Privacy Policy, and deletion options are described in Data Deletion.
